Google Ai Impact Challenge Ocean Plastic Pollution Ai

Google.org partnered with Google AI to issue an open call to organizations around the world to submit their ideas for how they could use AI to help address societal challenges.

Millions of tons of plastic are dumped into our oceans each year, much of it coming from communities where waste management is under-resourced or absent.

Google believes that artificial intelligence can provide new ways of approaching problems and meaningfully improve people’s lives. Google supports organizations that are using the power of AI to address social and environmental challenges. Gringgo Foundation also joins a customized 6-month Google Developers Launchpad Accelerator program.

During this project, GIF (Gringgo Indonesia Foundation) is building an Ai powered platform to create a better system to help categorized different type of waste and their value, this way household would understand the value in their waste at the same time contributing to improve the waste management system by making behavioral change in separating the different types of waste from the household level.

This will improve and expand community trash collection and reduce ocean plastic pollution.
