50% of Indonesians don't have waste collection so dumping into rivers is all too common. Plastic ends up in our oceans and now we are the no. 2 marine plastic polluter in the world!
We believe to solve the ocean plastic problem, stopping plastic pollution at the source is essential. We must stop plastics from entering rivers in the first place and Gringgo does this by boosting waste management and recycling across Indonesia.

1. You buy garbage
2. We harvest the recyclables
3. We sell the recyclables to factories and processors for recycling
4. We share the profits with you
Gringgo is a data driven trash tech startup that's disrupting the waste sector.
In Sanur Kaja, Bali, our pilot project has brought recycling to over 65% of the town's 5000 residents by working with independent, self-employed waste collectors since 2016. Using this hyperlocal approach and our data-driven system, we have dramatically reduced ocean bound plastics because we have effectively tripled the waste collection capacity of the community's trash service.
We currently handle over 340 metric tons/month of garbage and have improved recycling rates to over 35%. Our aim is to recycle over 60% of the garbage we collect and expand to other villages across Bali over the coming months.more about Gringgo....
